The 2021 Muskegon River Spey Fest is in the books and turned out to be a successful event. Plans are already being made for a 2022 Spey Fest.
About 125 people showed up to learn all about spey casting techniques and tips. They joined about 25 vendors and volunteers who helped make the Spey Fest possible.
Many thanks go out to the crew from Grand Valley Fly Fishers who helped make the grilled lunch possible. This includes Tom Williams, Ray Harrison, Kim Sears, and Gary Lindquist.
Also, help from the FFIGLC board in various ways made a big difference. This included Dennis O’Brien, Dave Peterson, Joe Francis, Tom Williams, Gary Lindquist, and Terry Grenier.
In addition, we had Jay Wisnosky from Schultz Outfitters provide single-handed casting instruction as an FFI certified instructor. This portion of the event went over extremely well for everyone who stopped by for help and questions.
Other presenters included Kevin Feenstra, Doug Taylor, Kim Benbow, Jeff Liskay, Fred Vargas, Jerry Darkes, and Jeff Kennedy.
Below here, we’re sharing a few pictures from the event.
